The right age to start Bharatanatyam (the divine form of art) is 6 years as by that time ideally the child's mind and body will be tune to grasp the concepts and dance movements.
Another important aspect is interest to learn, patience, dedication and support from parents.
Yes absolutely, age is not a barrier as long as you are interested and committed.
A student undergoes Bharatanatyam training through dance grades 1 to 8 based on structured syllabus.
- After Grade 8, student is eligible for Arangetram training.
- Post Arangetram, student is eligible to learn Nattuvangam, teach & train Grade 1 and 2 students under the guidance of Guru.
- Enroll for dance degree course (Bachelor in Fine Arts, Title course)
- Enroll for Masters in Fine Arts
Its a ritual offering to Lord Ganesha and Goddess Saraswati that should be performed after student learn Bharatanatyam advus. After this ritual, student can wear Salangai for their dance performances.
Arangetram is the debut solo on-stage performance marking the completion of formal training. The student now has the basic knowledge of major dance items in Baratanatyam.
Dance Grade 8 completion or should have atleast 10 years of continuous and rigorous training in Baratanatyam
An orchestra that includes Carnatic singer, Mridangist, Nattuvangist, Violinist/Flutist
